"Kawaii" Cute Is A Way Of Life

My life truly revolves around living "Kawaii".  I buy it, collect it, tattoo it, gift it, live it.  Who wants to grow up when you can live Kawaii and be surrounded by cuteness daily.  At 35 I thought I could pack some stuff up and buy less of it, but I just can't do it, the cuteness is just calling me like crazy.  The Japanese culture is so amazing and I love that they can take cute to the most amazing level.  The next few days I'm going to take some time to share the Kawaii world with you.  Here in San Diego we have access to lots of Kawaii, and the internet is endless.  Don't be shy, buy something Kawaii and everyday I'm sure it will make you smile at its cuteness. *Remember I'm a Gemini so my life revolves around many things, lol.

Fridays Letters

Dear Summer, you were pretending not to come and then just like that you showed up at the worst possible time for me.  Seriously why did you not appear when we were swimming at the pool or something, why when I'm working my buns off outside.
Dear Horse Lovers, please come to the auction at San Diego Animal Shelter in Bonita on Sweetwater Road this Saturday. There are 20 amazing horses that are looking for forever homes.  I have worked as a volunteer feeding, cleaning, loving, grooming, and getting them ready to steal your heart.
Dear Papa, this weeks has been an amazing one and I'm so proud of you.  Keep up the great work in school and at home.
Dear Moogins, I know you hate to do Mathletics but we really need to work on it a few times a week.  You ROCK because your bringing home green cards everyday, and soon they might turn to BLUE ones.

Happy Dog Box Subscription Box July 2013

CoCo  Chanel next to July's Happy Dog Box Subscription

She and my other two little chi's loved this box as much as I did.  They all sniffed it like crazy and actually ate the snacks (super picky Chi's).

**  Barkworthies.com
**  EarthRated.com -  Poop Bags
**  JYBPetTreats.com
**  WoofablesBakery.com
**  CloudStar.com - Hip and Joint Dynamo Dog Treats
**  JollyPets.com - Monster Mouth Treat Dispenser

My dogs love the Monster Mouth treat dispenser, I fill with small crunched up dog food and natural dog treats and they are entertained for a while.  The Barkworthies natural chew stick was cut into three pieces and they loved it, it still is lying around the house being chewed on.  This is the best dog box we have received because my picky chi's have loved everything so far.  I would love to keep as a subscription but $30 dollars is not in my budget.  BUT you can look for coupons and maybe get your first box for as low as $5 dollars like me.  If you want to try a dog box this is my first recommendation out of all the boxes I have tried.

Wednesday's Whatevers

###   AAA-CHoooo this summer cold is giving me a hard time

###  Tomorrow is my first day at volunteer work and I'm major excited

###  Its bath time for the little fur kids, should take pics.  Marbles got her shots on Saturday and had an Allergic reaction, I was so scared I might lose her, (my quick brilliant dog mind gave her liquid children's benedryl) .  BUTT the little one has survived because she is a survivor and she won't give up :)

###  I really need to add two old subscription boxes from last month but my darn MAC hates my awesome DROID phone so I have to email pics to upload them, sometimes I just get annoyed and my blog gets abused.

###  Today is the first new day of Aaron's new world.  Its top secret stuff is all I can say.  With that he is getting ready to kick some A** at school.

###   My apartments small, my car is small and only one, my bank accounts small and my dogs are small, my kids are small BUT we are BIG on Love and Happy in this Moore Camp.  Happiness is a choice and we chose it everyday :)

Sunday Sentiments

Linking Up

*******   What a crazy weekend, but full of fun and discipline if you know what I mean.  Sometimes all I feel like is a full time referee, and a time out queen.  Letting the kids run a muck would be easier but would not be the right thing to do or good for them.  I feel like it rains cats and dogs sometimes around here, cloudy with a chance of meatballs crazy.  Seriously did they put something in the water to make my boys go bonkers.  Finally it has chilled out around here this Sunday night and the boys seem back to normal, lol.

*******    I was accepted into the Humane Society to volunteer in the Neuter/Spay clinic, and Friday I was accepted into the San Diego Animal Control shelter as a volunteer.  They are the same and different if that makes any sense.  I'm being rushed into volunteer work at the shelter for 20 horses that were seized.  Since I'm older and have like 25 plus equine years of experience they are happy to have me, and I'm happy to help.  I hope this volunteer work helps me reach my Animal Control Officer dreams and just be a stress release for me, an outlet besides being just a mom.  I love being a stay at home mom, but sometimes I think we need more than just that in our life.

*******    Thank you KIRBY vacum for being the worlds greatest suction of dirt, dust and S**t.  Yes you were expensive but worth every penny to this OCD girl in a little apartment.

*******    I hope I have new readers, LOL.  I know I'm the only one reading this blog, but I write it and put it out in the world and hope someone else enjoys it.

*******    Marbles, you are awesome in every way.  Seriously have you ever seen a chi launch off your body like a rabbit.  She runs around playing fetch and teeth wrestling with our older chi like a crazy marble.  She might only be a pound but she is a radical little pound of fury.  Runs around in the grass like a little chocolate rabbit bunny on Easter as if she was being chased by hungry little kids who love chocolate.  Marbles you are a whack a doo and I luv u.

*******    Note too; Laundry you will get done soon, Garage I hear you and yes I too want to organize you, Cowboy boots you are still missing and I don't know why your not in the barn, where R U?, Chicken Pie Shop stop calling for me to come eat your lunch special, I need to lose some weight, Body why are you so chubby, what happened, did my mouth get bigger and hold more food, please stop eating whatever is making you fluffy, Purse Its time to switch you out, I need my crossbody option because your just to heavy,  Pet Stores, why don't you make things for small dogs, miniature toys and such, you know bigger is not always better, Little dogs need love too.

Just My Patio Flowers

white-lined gloxinia, from the same Gesneriaceae family as African violets
Super pretty and only $5 at Home Depot
They are more of a patio flower than indoor like their cousins

The Giants Are Growing

The Giant Swallowtail is a swallowtail butterfly common in various parts of North America and marginally into South America. In the United States and Canada it is mainly found in the south and east. Wikipedia

This is one of my giants that crysalized over the winter from last summer, I released him early spring when it started to warm up this year.  They can grow to as big as your hand if given lots of fresh food to munch on for as long as possible, the bigger the caterpillar the bigger the butterfly.

Last I blogged about the giant eggs that hatched.  Here they are about a week older and I still have four growing strong.  One is larger than the others because its easier for him to eat the leaves.  I usually cut baby citrus leaves for the tiniest ones but I'm having difficulty finding new growth on my local citrus.  They will eat Rue as well, so I do buy that at the nursery if it is organically grown.  Tough lesson; Never give caterpillars just any herbs.  If they are not organic you may kill them from pesticides that are on the herbs or fed to the herbs while rooting.  Its lots of love rearing these babies and anytime there is a death its sad.

This is the big boy, and he is as cute as a piece of bird poop.  When they start to get bigger I will be able to get great little pics of there cute faces.  They get fat and really sausage like as they grow, super cute and super soft velvety touch.

####  Today I'm loving that my hubby and I can spend some time goofing off together before the boys get out of school, go out for breakfast, walk the golf course and watch some goofy s**t on the boob tube.

####   I love when I can buy my boys birthday gifts that are not video games and they actually think its cool, for example the bed tent to finish off their Ikea Bunk Bed.  Who would have guessed, well I did, that a torch night light on the wall would be so awesome :)

Our model bunk bed and tent but not our room, we are still working on the details, lol.
Uncle Milton Wall Torch at Toys R Us for only $14, this was a great birthday gift.  My boys love it with their super cool tent.  You can hang on the wall and take off to walk around in the dark, it has a timer for 20 minutes.  They love it so much I have to search for it every morning, and its usually in pieces because they can't figure out how to switch on with just a simple twist.  Really I think they just like to take it apart because that is more fun.

####   Thanks for taking care of me yesterday Herbie, you are truly a love bug and we have come a long way.  You look great, it may not match or be trail gear but its comfortable for both of us and that is what matters.  Boots for cactus protection, snake bites, crochet ear covers for flies and water of bottle for a cool off.  Seriously don't let what they say bother ya, lol.  Anytime I stay off the ground is a good ride.

####   I'm loving that my kids are in a great school where the teachers care, keep up the good work boys.  Seriously you two kids could not get any more cute, sassy, funny, or quirky.

Amazing Chi Pictures

This family has amazing pictures of their chi babies.  Take a minute and visit their blog to enjoy the beauty of Chihuahuas through their photos.

Jennifer from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom has a daily dedication to life's events and this is one of them.  So we are linking up with one of my most favorite blogs and her amazing play on words.

It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Troubles. I’ve said it before, but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is. And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know these for sure could be defined as first world problems! (Jennifer's Words)

*** Riding horses is my passion and a time of true joy for me, but today my Anxiety issues just rained on my lovely pony parade.  I worked through it and we had a nice three hour ride with the most amazing horses, they are so well behaved and their horse souls are truly connected to ours.  Thanks Herbie for a great ride and carrying me through my troubles.

***  My boys love squirt guns, and in an apartment that can be a little bit of an issue.  But here comes the great part, they like to play with them in the shower, lol.

*** Please tell me what is the point of putting a laundry basket in my boys room or at my husbands feet.  The men in this family have the hardest time getting dirty clothes to the hamper.  Its a small apartment boys, its not a walk to get there, its really just a light toss.  I will wash but can you just toss it, love you guys.

***  Am/Pm, seriously you have a whole row of refrigerated drinks.  If you gave them away for free I would not care how cold they where.  But since you charge and arm and part of a leg for them I expect them to be cold, don't get cheap on your electric bill and make me pay for a sub par warm soda, YUCK.  711, thank you for always having cold drinks, it makes me smile.

Marbles Growth Chart

Just keeping you posted on the darling Miss Marbles.  We still have no idea how old she is, but I think about four months because that's when chihuahuas ears droop a little because they are heavily teething.  By six months her ears should perk back up and stand tall like most chihuahuas.  She is full of life, fun, kisses, love and joy.  She is finally getting big enough to play dress up, only collar bling right now because clothes in her size or hard to find or super expensive.

Day at the park, mostly in my arms while we walked but occasionally I put her down for a little run.
I thought I loved red on her the best, but this purple flower bling sure looks cutie patootie.  Now her size is hard to see in this pic and its also very difficult to take pics of her because she won't sit still.

For size I scooped her up for this self portrait.  She is so stinking cute and perfect its just amazing how lucky we got.  She has almost doubled in size since I got her because of excellent care.  She eats human grade consumption dog food like our two other chi's and gets the best care for her coat and all the love she could need.  I don't care how big she gets because she is a genuine companion and will make a great walking companion for me.

My dogs closet/boutique

I finally found the best use for my vintage pie safe, my dogs closet.  Sad part is the girls and boy dress better than I do.  I hope to dress better than them when I finally lose some of this extra weight.  Anyways its super cute, full of clothes, collars, necklaces, harnesses and more.  I hope to add a second clothes rack and more toys.  When Marbles is big enough she can model some of these, but at only one pound she just won't fit in them right now.

Caterpillars O Caterpillars, Where are U

This year has been such a sad Butterfly/Caterpillar year.  We have decided its due to a light winter rain and lack of wild plant growth.  Also one of the plants is not native and the city kills what they can.  But a few weeks ago while cruising Home Depot I thought I would peek at the citrus trees for some eggs and what do you know!

I found six baby Giant Swallowtail eggs on the citrus trees and they all hatched on the same day within minutes of each other, and that has never happened.  I took this pic with my phone on macro and you can see the little pillars on the edges of the leaves and one on the paper towel.  One of the babies is eating the egg that he just hatched from, they do that often.  I'm going to track their growth to butterfly and you will see how amazing they are.

I have lost two babies, one to drowning in the water that I put the citrus leaves in.  Sometimes I lose a few and it is sad, but in the wild it takes about 100 eggs to produce one flying butterfly.  I figure my success rate is about %90 percent, and that is a awesome contribution to mother nature.

Linking up with

  • It was so nice waking up to my phone alarm without having to fish around the floor and all my chach-kis to turn my alarm off.  I have my lovely new vintage spoon phone holder to thank.  I picked up a fork at the Lemon Festival that has been twisted and bent around to a super cute curly q phone holder.  It was a fun farmer market style festival that I will probably never attend again because it cost me 100 dollars, I'm a sucker for my kids and seeing them smile from over priced toys.
  • I started walking the golf course again, this time taking Marbles.  She is probably a pound and about as big as two hamsters playing piggy back.  I put her down to run every few minutes and she just ran like crazy.  I expected to be stopped more often by admirers, but I think people had a hard time seeing her in my arms.
  • Marbles you rock the house and I just totally adore and love ya
  • The boys did a great job this morning walking to school super fast since we were running late because the Culligan man showed up as we were supposed to be leaving.
  • This week I plan to get organized and back on track with my super quirky and kawaii ways.
  • And its great to be back on the horses again, I took some time off because we just had to much stressful things going on in our life.  I'm trying to take some time for myself doing the things I love and have passion for while the kids are in school.  No guilt, just keep saying, just keep saying.

Long Time No Blog

Logo of How Does She?

It has been a while since my last blog, and the only one truly suffering is me since I'm probably the only living soul reading it.  I'm totally getting my ingredients ready to make my own detergent and softener for my dirty clothes.  I'm adding a few twist to this already amazing recipe and I hope it turns out ok.  Does peppermint and lavender sound like a good combo, I hope so because castile peppermint soap is the best organic soap around.  I also have the scentsy lavender laundry crystals to add.  I know that the pink soap and the purple crystals are going to be super cute in a vintage jar, now I just need a awesome house with a laundry room instead of the community laundry mat in my apartments.  I just pretend I'm living in New York City in a chic apartment where its cool and trendy to laundry together, lol.

 Here is our final product
I tried it out and it totally takes out all the icky smell, but I'm not loving how it leaves no yummy smell.  I think it takes so much smell out of the clothes that the yummy smell actually gets wiped out.  Next time we will try some different ingredients and see how it goes.
